I've been collecting shards ever since that fateful day* at market - back in the gravel parking lot of the old DAP - when a gust of wind blew my shelves over while I was buying my eggs from Fickle Creek.
The only thing for me to do was to grin from ear to ear and declare I'd make mosaics some day.
Some 23 years later, my mosaic day has arrived courtesy of Gene Dillard, the Man in the Mirror House and I'm still grinning.
Thank you Gene Dillard for Mrs. Icarus' dress of shards.
*Zoe Mulford happened to be shopping at market that day. She wrote a beautiful song about the journey of Crystal Glasses through the generation. Sometimes in concert she tells the story of my shattered pottery by way of introduction.
